Also, here is a review from The Court Street Grill

Court Street Grill Offended

A standing room audience at Court Street Grill was repeatedly offended Saturday night, April 30th, and The Right Reverend J.W. Juke has vowed to have the four musicians responsible return for a repeat offense. Michael Locke & The Repeat Offenders is a very talented blues band out of Germantown, Ohio. The four members’ only real offense, it would seem, was adding a few dashes of rock and a spontaneous sprinkling of jazz into some mighty fine blues – repeatedly, of course.

The guilty parties, Michael Locke on guitar and vocals, Darosa Richardson on keys, James Higgins on bass, and Stephen Keith on drums immediately had everyone’s blues baggage under the table or checked at the door. Mid-song applauses and air toasts quickly became common crowd expressions. Their excellent musicianship, manifest in tight dynamic interactions with each other and jaw-dropping individual solos, was hard to ignore.

They performed excellent original compositions, such as “One Night Stan,” a reference to world famous sax player Stan Waldman who has accompanied Michael Locke in the past. The funky “Time Will Tell” had everyone moving some body part. Along with originals, they blended in uniquely expressive cover interpretations of obscure songs, such as “Scratch My Back” by James Moore, aka Slim Harpo. An inventive Santana-esque version of a Willie Dixon tune originally performed by Robert Cray, “Too Many Cooks,” caught the attention and appreciation of a number of blues enthusiasts in the crowd. From the last laughters of April into the first of May, the band maintained a captivating balance of blues-based material, each tune begging for the next.

It only took a few minutes to realize that these were seasoned musicians capable of handling anything with ease and style – blues, rock, jazz, a blend – anything. Throughout the two-set evening, they provided a pace that was space sensitive and crowd conscious. AND, by the end of the break between sets it was agreed that they were four genuinely nice guys…hardly what you’d expect from a bunch of repeat offenders.
